The Deeds of Rachel A.

Rachel’s Current Deed Count: 25
  • Handed a party-goer in a footcast a cup that said party-goer was unable to reach.
  • Held the door for someone varying laundry out of the laundry room.  The person made multiple trips for multiple loads and the entire door-holding was greater than one minute!
  • Baked brownies for hungry coworkers who had been working very long hours.
  • Gave a stranger 50 cents in order to help them get enough money on their Metro pass
  • Brought co-workers Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Mini’s as a Friday surprise!
  • Donated two movie tickets to a Danny’s Heroes movie event.
  • Gave some needed money to a disabled veteran on the Metro
  • Held my umbrella over a stranger getting out of a cab until he could get his umbrella open
  • Donated money to help ”provide surgery costs for 14 year-old Daguma” who is “suffering from tuberculosis of the spine.” (deed done concurrently with Heroes Rachel B. and Yang K.)
  • Ran after someone to let her know she’d left her wallet on a bench.
  • Sat through a friend’s speech about his home-state in order to make him feel better by increasing the number of people attending.
  • Stayed one hour past the end of a friend’s barbecue in order to help him clean up (even though I was really sleepy and wanted to go home and nap).  The toughest part was carrying heavy trashbags to the dumpster, while a yucky beer/cake/brisket mixture leaked from the bags and dripped all over my legs.
  • I spent an afternoon cleaning up an area where people have been illegally dumping trash, damaging the surrounding environment, including a nearby stream.
  • I gave a quarter to an acquaintance who was in dire need of M&Ms from a gumball-style candy machine but didn’t have any quarters.
  • I volunteered at a homeless shelter cleaning and painting the walls.
  • I ran down the street to return earbuds to a friend who left them in a bar.
  • Helped an elderly woman by carrying her heavy suitcase off of the bus for her.
  • Gave up a glow stick necklace so that a DH who really wanted one could have it.
  • Sat alone at a movie I went to with my friends because there weren’t enough seats together, and I didn’t want any of them to have to sit alone.
  • Picked up garbage/litter (and got others around me to do the same) after the conclusion of a parade in DC.
  • Helped a friend who was moving clean and pack up his apartment.
  • I bought a friend breakfast when I knew she had a stressful day ahead of her.
  • Carried bottles of orange juice upstairs for a friend who was not strong enough to do it himself.
  • Let someone get in front of me in line at the airport quiznos so that he wouldn’t miss his flight.
  • Gave a co-worker who wasn’t feeling well money to take a taxi home when she didn’t gave any cash.
